During this year’s hybrid IMEX America, Mia Masson from Swapcard was lucky enough to sit down with the very busy Carina Bauer, CEO of IMEX Group.
We heard some behind-the-scenes details of the planning that went into this year’s event, Carina’s most heartwarming moments onsite and how IMEX had five levels of contingency plans.
Carina mentioned that event planners need to have adaptability as part of their basic skill set, and while eventprofs have always been flexible, with COVID things are even more challenging.
IMEX partnered with Swapcard to power their 365-day BuzzHub community online in the build-up to their Las Vegas event this November. Carina spoke about the inspiration behind building this community and how they build the content and networking for each month, engaging the audience regularly and in short bursts.

She also explained the measures the team took to make sure IMEX America was a safe, COVID-free environment and how they allowed all visitors to feel safe onsite.
